Post by: Beth Curran on February 02, 2016, 11:37:23 AM
Congratulations to our own Debra Hogan, who cleaned up at the APA National meet in Modesto, California!

Out of 57 bantam Ameraucana shown, Debra's black cock was BB.

Her 2 bantam buff hens won BV & RV out of 11 shown, out of 4 silver bantams her hen was BV and her cock RV, and of 9 lavender bantams shown her hen placed BV.

In LF her blue wheaten cock took BV and her cockerel took RV out of 3, her 2 brown red cockerels placed BV & RV out of 5, her silver pullet placed BV & her cockerel RV out of 7, her wheaten cock placed BV & her cockerel RV out of 3, her lavender hen placed BV and her cockerel RV out of 9, and her Red Pyle cock and cockerel placed BV & RV, respectively, out of 5. Way to go, Debra!!

Congratulations Debra.  Great job!  Linda

Nice!   Linda, did some of those birds come from your stock originally?

Mike - I'm not sure about Debra's birds; she was breeding chickens way before I started.  She did buy a LF Blue Wheaten Cock from me 3 years ago when the show was still in Stockton, CA.  He might have played some part, but I'm not sure. In the past I've got some nice birds from Debra, but my Wheaten/Blue Wheaten's came from other sources.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get to that show in a couple of years for one reason or the other, but I heard there was a really big turn out this year .  Thanks for checking - Linda

Does anyone know who took BB large fowl - and whether it went any farther than best of breed?
