Title: ISO bantam pullets at National Meet
Post by: Patricia Schneider on September 01, 2018, 04:48:42 PM
Hello all. My daughter and I are over the moon with our bantams from John. We’re hoping to add a few pullets to our little flock. We will be at the Meet in Portage. I’m hoping to secure about a half dozen breeding quality bantam pullets or bantam hens. Colors we are most interested in are White, Wheaten, Black and Lavender. Let me know what you have!

Thanks!

I will have a mixed trio of wheaten and blue wheaten bantams in the silent auction.  I'm not sure if I can spare any more white pullets or not.   Perhaps.

Thanks. I’ll have to check out the auction!
If you find you can spare a white pullet, or know anyone you can, let me know.

I will be bringing a few lavender bantams. I sold all my breeders this past spring to make room. In true chicken addict nature though I set a few eggs to fill my setter so they will all come to Portage not to come home

It would be wonderful to buy a couple Lavender bantams, Russ. How old will they be any the meet? It would be good to get pullets if we could tell the sex by late September. Let me know how much you are asking and if I could reserve some.

They would be 4-5 months old and I will not be looking to get rich. I have some Cockerels as well and will be looking to sell as trios or possibly pairs. Not sure exactly what is available until the show. If need be I was going to put a pair or trio in auction with hopefully some Bantam Silvers. I will sort through my grow out pens this weekend and have a for sure number and price then.

Sounds great, Russ. Thank you. I wouldn’t mind a trio.

All my spare whites are spoken for and promised.   I can, however, bring some extra wheaten and blue wheaten bantams if anyone is interested.  These would be 2018 hatch and probably not quite finished out enough to put in the show.   Vaccinated for Marek's, Coryza, and Laryngo.    I can also vaccinate for Newcastle/Bronchitis if that is desired.    $20 per bird.

If anyone else is interested, I can bring a few breeder quality large fowl black and blue pullets. Also a few bantam wheaten and blue wheaten pullets. All are laying age and vaccinated for Mareks, Pox, ILT, and Coryza. Let me know as I don't want to haul them if they're not spoken for. $20 for bantam  $25 for large fowl

Max, will you be bringing any bantam brown reds for me?  Need females especially.

I'll bring what I have available. I didn't hatch very many.

I don't want you to be short of them, so if you have no extra pullets don't worry.   I do have a cockerel for you if you want him.   And one for Russ.   If you both want the same one, we'll have to have a coin flip.   And if you both don't want one. or either one, no problem as I have a good market for meat birds.   I also have a trio of white bantams for each of you if you still want those.    If not, they will be up for sale at the show.   Those I think you might like.

I'm only keeping two Brown Red pullets. I think I have three or four I can bring for you to choose from. I'll probably need a cockerel.

I still want the white bantam trio. I was going to start raising LF whites since I got some recessives from my blacks but I just don't have the room to take on another LF variety.

Sounds good Max.   See you in Portage.  The Brown Red cockerels both have traces of white in their earlobes, a late development that was unforeseen.  But I think they will make pretty good breeders.  Both are entered in the show, so it should be interesting what happens.
