Title: 40th Anniversary rosette up for bid
Post by: John W Blehm on October 03, 2018, 06:00:03 PM
I ordered 30 of these rosettes and gave 23 away to Alliance members that attended our Ameraucana National Meet.  The board of directors agreed to also give one to each of our officers that weren't there, along with one to Jerry Segler and one to Don Cable.  They are two of three charter members from 40 years ago that are still in the club.  That leaves one to go to the member with the highest bid.  I believe we should start with $10 as a minimum and give it a week to see what interest there is, so please bid by October 10th.

These Rosettes are really nice and will be a collectors item, as there will never be any more just like them.   They are about 16 inches long from top to bottom.

John if no one else seems interested I will gladly start the bid at $10. I will even save the club shipping and just pick it up at fowl fest lol.

Feeling super grateful for our ribbon! But it wouldn’t be bad to have another. 😊 $15.

Mike said on FB that he had some luck finding Don Cable's family to send him the Rosette.  I thought that wonderful and definitely want to give him a shout for doing that.         Great going Mike

Sue, two others that I heard of also did online research and found where he was probably living.  So it was not just me.   Still have not received a call  back from the family, which has me a little concerned.

Well I searched for a Don Cable in California and there are tons, so I gave up.  Didn't we have a gal who lived near his retirement place that visited him?  Wouldn't she know?

Linda Ferguson is one of the two I referred to.    The nursing home where he used to be can not provide any information.   Silly law, but that's the way it is.
