ISO Bantam Cock
« on: December 26, 2021, 05:03:19 PM »
Hi! I’m starting to breed bantam black Ameraucana to show in 4-H, but my cocks are running 36- 39 oz. I’m looking for a small black (or any color that can safely mix with black) cock that can help keep my line small. Thanks!

Molly,

I don't have any extra at this point in the year. I will have hatching eggs I could share if you are interested. You might try Brad Stonebarger in Oklahoma if you are looking for a black bantam cock or cockerel right now. He may still have a few extra left.

Michael

Still haven’t found a rooster. Hoping to find one soon so I can start working on breeding my line smaller!

I will have one available in a couple of months, after my hatching season.  He is definitely fertile.   He placed 2nd cockerel at our 2021 national meet in Indiana.  I believe the 1st place cockerel went on to take champion AOCCL of the show.   But shipping is expensive these days - are you aware of that?
If you are interested, I'll weigh him (he is small) and post a photo.

I’d be very interested in weight and photos. About how much would you ask for him? Do you have an idea for shipping costs from your location to Lousiana?

Here are two photos taken this morning.  I did not bother to clean him up, as it was very cold here.   I already have chicks in the brooder out of him, about 2 weeks old.   His weight this morning was 29 ounces.   He would have been hatched a little less than a year ago.    I will have to check with the post office on shipping and let you know.    You can email me at Chantecler7@gmail.com for price.

to me

Hi! We picked him up this morning and he looks good! He looks healthy and feels much lighter than my cocks. He is already crowing and trying to show off to the ladies through his quarantine cage. Thank you so much for helping me! I really appreciate you!

Thanks,
Molly Bordelon
