Club Meets and How to Request one.
« on: August 20, 2018, 12:10:54 PM »
(updated 2/1/2021)
Our Meet Policy outlines the procedures for requesting and placing Club meets.

The Ameraucana Alliance places meets at the request of our members.  Please contact our Director in charge of club meets to request an Ameraucana Alliance Club Meet at a poultry show.

Club meets may be placed by the Director in charge of meets when a member requests a meet for a specific show in time for the meet to be publicized in the quarterly Ameraucana Newsletter prior to the show's entry deadline.   Members need to know well in advance when and where meets are placed for planning purposes.

To request a Club Meet email the director the following information:
•   Name of Ameraucana Alliance member requesting the meet:
•   Name of show club and website:
•   Name of the show(s) and location:
•   Show date(s):
•   Show superintendent’s name & contact information:

After a meet has been placed the member that requested it is expected to promote it by starting a topic about it on this forum and other means.

All upcoming Meets that have been sanctioned by the Alliance are listed on our Meets page.

For lists of poultry shows check out Poultry Show Central.  They list shows by region, month and by state/province.

I would just like to share a portion from our meet policy in regards to requesting bids to host our National Meet since the procedure varies from our regular sanctioned meets and how the two are requested;

Any member may
solicit bids/offers from poultry show clubs wishing to host an Ameraucana National Meet or make on offer to host a private Ameraucana only ABA and APA sanctioned show and submit them to the President. Bids must be received by November first to be considered for the club’s National Meets to be held the following fall/winter. At least two members, that plan to
attend the show, must agree to organize our National Meet there before a bid is considered. The President shall share the list of bids with the Board members for discussion. The President will then ask for the Board to vote on the show club bids before November 15th. The meet(s) will be promoted in the Winter Newsletter.
