Attention grabber/banner/club advertising at meets
« on: October 02, 2018, 09:03:58 AM »
It came up at the meet this weekend that we maybe need something to catch people's attention to know what the people set up at the table at the meets are about. Yes, we put signs up, but it's easier to have a bigger sign to draw them in from across the way.

A friend of mine makes their own for their tractor implement, but perhaps it's not the only answer. Doing a little bit of searching, there's a couple other designs to consider, the feather/flag banner and a retractable design that looks pretty slick.
Personally if we would go the route for a banner to promote, it might be easiest to mail and transport that retractable style.
Prices I've seen go from $75-200ish for stand and banner.

I checked out some retractable banners and think that would be the way to go.  It wouldn't take up much room when retracted and bagged and it would be highly visible.

I really like the retractable concept, like John mentioned it would be easy to set up, and less room to store

Also easy to ship, in case whoever is in possession cannot make it to a meet.

I think that is a great idea!  Hope we go forward with getting one.

This is one "me too" movement I'll be happy to join.     ;D    Let's get the retractable banner.

Just thought of this idea while talking to Neil and Donna Townsend on Christmas. Haven’t heard much about it, probably due to the holiday hustle and bustle. So I figured I would bump it back up to spark input.

I purposely left this topic on the backburner, with the plan to revive it after we changed our Meet Policy and had the possibility of two national meets.  I feel if we go forward with the idea, we should get two...one for each meet, plus whoever is in possession of one may also display it at club meets they attend.

Quote from: Back in October Beth said in an email
I love the idea of the retractable banner, and agree it's worth spending a little more for the better one. But I don't think I'd buy this particular one, it has a lot of negative reviews, mostly regarding quality/durability.
I said "Are you talking about the one from Vistaprint?  I’ve only had business cards printed there and the quality, service and pricing was very good."
Quote from: She replied
Yes. The reviews were just for this banner - poor resolution and parts breaking after limited use seemed to be the chief complaints.
Are there new or other ideas/comments before I put this into the laps of the board of directors?

These folks at the Print Place have better comments, but who knows?  Maybe like Amzn they're bought and paid for.

We have purchased these recently for my company. My marketing person in on vacation right now. She'll be back in office on 1 May. I know she did some shopping around and we always take them to trade shows with us, sometimes shipping them ahead so I'd be happy to get some info on these if it would help.

Any updates or more info on this subject, before I take it up with our board of directors?

I would be happy to purchase one for use here in Utah.
