Hog Wild for Ameraucanas National Meet Nov 2-3, 2024
« on: May 16, 2024, 11:27:55 PM »
This year the Ameraucana Alliance will have a second National Meet hosted by HOTOPA in Fayetteville, AR
I am organizing that event along with Michael Muenks, Russ Blair-advisor.

The Paulene Whittaker Animal Science Center is a very nice facility and the staff of the HOTOPA show are very welcoming and helpful.

There are many jobs that need to be done at an event like this and a few volunteers have already stepped up to pitch in and make this a terrific National Meet for the Member of the Ameraucana Alliance.

Janie Vila will be our photographer, would someone like to be her backup photographer for additional candids or poultry portraits?

Do we have a member who could handle a live stream from the Show?
How about posting pictures on the Forum?
Show progress reports, pics to Social Media
A person focusing on getting the Meet Report filled out would be great!
We give Awards to Displays and will need someone to take on the task of calculating display points.
We will have a Club meeting open to all members, who takes great notes?

Egg show check-in - Andi VandeVere
Egg show Judges - Char and John Haste
Silent auction - Laurie Ashley
Raffle - Laurie Ashley
Club table Staffing - Jessica Loree, we need 3-4 additional people to rotate to the table over the day
additional Promotion of the National Meet - ideas, suggestions welcome - or volunteer to make it your job to promote the show
activities like coloring contest, word each, etc

There will be a meeting room available about lunch time, we can have lunch as a casual group with a Q and A session. Come with Questions or offer Answers and Experience to others.

Saturday evening a club meal/social gathering/Annual Meeting.

All volunteers, talent, skills, suggestions are appreciated. The more the merrier, lots of volunteers means every one has some down time to just hang out and enjoy the good fellowship of other poultry fanciers.

Thank you to Michael Muenks, Laurie Ashley, Jessica Loree, Andi VandeVere, Janie Vila, John Haste, Char Haste, and  Russ Blair for you time and commitment to the Ameraucana Alliance and the 2024 Hog Wild for Ameraucanas National Meet

;D. OH, BTW remember to hatch a few extras for the Silent Auction   ;D

Rebecca are they still allowing us to use the room for the annual meeting? Or since it’s now a 1 day show has that changed?

Yes, Marty confirmed that we have a meeting room reserved from 11am to 1pm. We can have lunch and a Q&A session.

A Food Truck will be onsite and exhibitors can get food if desired and have lunch in the meeting room during that time.
Anyone with dietary restrictions might bring food from another source, though, and join us.

If needed we might have our yearly Board/Member meeting, though I hope our members might stay over for an evening meeting. We can address that closer to show day.

For those attending the Ameraucana Alliance National meet, hosted by HOTOPA, we have a meeting room reserved from 11AM to 1 PM. We can sit down as a group and have lunch and an informal Q&A session. Bring your questions to our many experienced breeder/exhibitors willing to share their knowledge and experience.

Open to all Ameraucana Enthusiasts!

Dave's Iron Skillet will be the show vendor and it looks to be a good selection of tasty food to choose from.

Hello All,

I am planning to attend the show and also the meeting from 11-1. This will be my first time at this show, so I am excited for the opportunity to attend. Normally it would be a bit out of my normal travel range (I am from PA), but my mother-in-law who is from Oklahoma has been staying with us since mid-August and we usually meet my sister-in-law in St. Louis to "trade her off" since she is afraid of flying. However, I was able to talk my husband into detouring for the show and his family was more than happy since it is only a 5 hour drive for them.

Since it is a long drive, we will be headed back home after the show on Saturday to get a few hours of drive time in and be able to make it home late Sunday evening.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and would gladly accept any helpful info about this show since it is my first time attending.

Hi Jamie,

Welcome to the Ameraucana Alliance and when you get to Arkansas for the HOTOPA show and the Hog Wild for Ameraucana National meet I will get to greet you with a big hug. I am so excited you were able to make arrangements to drive past St Louis and spent a day with us.

The Pauline Whittaker Animal Science Center is a really nice venue. It is right off I49 and has plenty of parking. There is stadium seating overlooking the show arena, and there will be a food truck providing specialty hamburgers onsite. You will find most of us huddled around the Ameraucana Club Meet table. We will have a lunch/Q&A session mid-day. In the evening we also plan to have our Annual Club Meeting on the same premises with a catered dinner.

I understand the need to start home after the show, but if you decide to stay longer, we would also love to see you at the evening get together and meeting.
Becky

Plans for the Ameraucana Alliance National - Hog Wild for Ameraucanas - are coming together nicely. We have lots of volunteers to man the Club table, do Show Reports, manage the Silent Auction and judge the traditional Egg Show.

Remember to gather those lovely blue eggs to enter the Egg contest.

The Host club, HOTOPA, has graciously given us access to a meeting room from 11am - 1pm. Everyone is welcome to get some lunch (Food Truck is onsite) and sit down to eat and participate in a Q&A session with long time breeders and exhibitors of Ameraucanas.

Our Silent auction will include live birds, a quilt, a custom show box and lots of baskets filled with various surprise goodies for the house and barn.

After the Show Awards Ceremony there will be an Annual Ameraucana Alliance club Dinner/Meeting/Ameraucana Alliance Club Awards in the same building which will make it easier for those planning to coop out and leave that evening. Those staying overnight can coop out Sunday morning before 9am.

A firm schedule will be published shortly.

Plan to spend the day, November 2, 2024 with us and enjoy the company of fellow Ameraucana enthusiasts!
