Is there a "recipe" for interbreeding bantam and large fowl Ameraucanas and then getting back to bantam size?
I've tried to research the genetics around bantam size and there seems to be a lot of different genes involved, not a simple dominant/recessive gene like I'm accustomed to working with.
Do you always start with a bantam cockerel and LF hen to prevent breeding injuries to a bantam hen?

If the bantam rooster can get the job done on a large fowl hen, that is one way to go. But Ameraucana large fowl are not that terribly heavy, so they should not damage a bantam hen, other than her feathers, in the mating process. I don't think it makes too much difference as long as you can get fertile eggs.

I'll 2nd that as long as the goal is getting back to bantam size.
