Do we know the judge panel for this show yet?

Yes.  Brian Gates, Butch Gundersen, and Zeb Skow will judge this year.   Entries may be made online at www.showcommander.com .  The show catalog should be ready about the middle of April.

There are still a couple of days to enter the CRPC show scheduled for June 7th.   Entries close May 31st. We are hosting an Alliance Club Meet.  It looks like we will have close to 1,000 entries.   Go to www.showcommander.com to enter and see details.   Note:  This show is limited to 550 Bantam/Pigeon/Quail holes, 400 Large Fowl holes, and 40 Pens for geese, etc.

A message from our show secretary, Jim Laatsch:

Another successful online entry period has concluded.  Welcome new and old members of the CRPC. We are so looking forward to the show this weekend.

The moment we all were waiting for..... 2024, 981 holes  2025, 897 holes.  We were over our max last year.  This year we are right on the cusp of it.  Bantams will be a bit over max but large fowl and geese are down.  We will make it work and should have enough room and cages to make it all fit. With a bit of breathing room this year.

Here's where we need the most help:

June 4th 9am. Set up cages at fairgrounds in Galesville. Addison and Connor are coming after their finals at school in the afternoon. It'll be welcomed to have some fresh muscles.  Any one that can make it, we appreciate any help offered from 9 am to 4pm. 

Friday is a fantastic day to relax and even the show secretary takes a few minutes to have fun.  We close up the barns promptly at 8pm.  Kathy and Maxine usually get a grasp of the larger items for the silent auction.

Saturday is go time!  I have two clerks lined up.  I remember one was Rachel, but for the life of me as I write this, I can not remember the other one.  None the less, we will come up with some.  Jill has a goal of a release time of 3pm.  Its lofty but doable! Last year we released at 3:20pm.  We are going to do it.  especially because we don't have trios this year.  On my end trios are like having a show within a show and with the Jrs included.... its a show within a show within a show within a show.  And by not having trios we increased the number of displays from 3 to 9 this year.  So far, this seems to be the way to go. 

Biggest need for help is Saturday from 3-5pm.  That's when the heavy liftings goes on.  We have to take down all the cages. Put them in racks and store them in the shipping container.  If we capitalize on any and all help Saturday evening, clean up goes quickly.  Jeff and I were reminiscing about finishing at 10pm 15 years ago.  we have come a long way.  I think I was home before 8 last year.  Cage racks and shipping container solved our problems.  If all the members at least give 2 hours of help taking down cages, we will get it done in good time.

With some late entries we ended up with 946 entries.  In spite of a little rain the show went off without a hitch, and birds were released shortly after 3 p.m.   Young Daniel Cook won the AOSB class with one of his Black cock birds.  He had entered 17 LF Black Ameraucanas.  I took a couple photos, but they somehow disappeared from my phone camera.   The AOCCL class had 113 entries, although some did not show up.  Bob Rennolet had entered but ended up going the E.R. in Sioux Falls with what was thought to be a "minor" stroke.  Bob is home now after an overnight hospital stay and seems to be doing better.  Anyway, two bantam Ameraucana cockerels ended up on champion row, with a Blue Wheaten taking best AOCCL and a Silver taking reserve AOCCL.   Zeb Skow of Iowa
judged the class.

Both of those bantam cockerels appear to have very good feather color in the right places, but the silver has the better overall type according to those photos.

Agree, but the Blue Wheaten does not always stand like he is in the photo.   I think the calm disposition of both of them made a difference to the judge.
