Michelle Muldowney-Stevens and Janet Tipton and their families did a wonderful job organizing and setting up for the Western National. Huge congrats to them for making the event so successful and positively promoting our breed and club, as well as thanks to them for bringing the lion's share of birds to the first Western National meet. It was such a wonderful thing for breeders here in the west to be within a day's drive and meet each other and spend time together. Our silent auction successfully raised quite a bit of money for the club. In terms of show wins, our club members put Bantam Ameraucanas on champion row for both shows for AOCCL, Champion Junior, and my cockerel took AOSB in the Ameraucana show. There were 76 Ameraucanas entered in a show of 495, which was extremely big for a fall Utah show. The first Western National was a big success. Everybody who came had a great time and we put in a great showing for the breed.
