A gift that kept on giving

Quite a few years ago Club co-founder Don Cable sent me a gift of  three kinds of garden seeds.   Two were of squash, one of which I still raise every year, and the other was a packet labeled "Grandpa Cable's Morning Glory"  or something to that effect.    After two or three years had passed I finally  planted them in two spots, and was delighted to discover that they readily re-seeded themselves each year, so all I have to do is a minimal amount of weeding.
Here is a photo taken at high noon today (it was partly cloudy).    The foliage in this spot provides shade for my outside dog kennel. I can't help but think of Don each time I see these flowers.   Now I would like to pass it on.   If any Alliance member would like some of these seeds I will be happy to collect them and mail them out late this fall.  First come first served until the seeds are gone.   They will of course be dried before packaging and mailing.    Click on the photos to enlarge them.  Final note:  those squash are the sweetest I ever tasted, but they require a lot of room.

That's a very kind offer.  I may take you up on it another year if you offer again.  I just learned something tonight.  I have some kind of a climbing/spreading flower that has a white flower and a thin, reddish/brown noodle-like vine.  I'll have to check to see if the leaves are heart shaped.  I thought they might be some kind of Petunia but they might be Morning Glory's.  It comes back on it's own ever year and grows/spreads like a weed.

Mike, I believe those are Granpa Ott's Morning Glories.  They are one of the oldest and hardiest morning glories.  They even flourish in the Colorado mountains and out here on the high plains.  Your's look beautiful! 
Royce, you may be describing Moon Flower.  It is a close relative of morning glory but the blooms tend to open in the evening instead of the morning.

Sure - but be sure to leave plenty of room for the squash, as they do tend to make a lot of vines.   And the fruit are quite large, so would not do well on a trellis or fence.    Football size and shape, and some get larger that that.
