Ceramic nest eggs
« on: October 12, 2015, 02:05:23 PM »
I'm bringing 4 dozen greenish ceramic nest eggs to the national meet, in Lebanon, this weekend as prizes in the egg contest.
If any member would like to purchase some, please let me know before I leave.  I've sold these before for $8/dozen, but $5/dozen is the special this weekend to Alliance members at the show.

I packed 5 dozen, so I should have one that isn't spoken for to sell.

Put them in nest boxes to give hens an idea where eggs belong.  They also help deter chickens that like to eat eggs, since then can't break open these.

Hi John, I took your tip & I made a few of my own to test out.  Mine are air dried clay and so not as uniform as yours.  I take it yours were kiln dried?

I picked some up at Lebanon. I have some painted wooden eggs from a craft store but I figured for the price I'd get them as a novelty. Then Jerry and I stared at some for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out if they were the ceramic eggs John said he was bringing or entries in the egg judging contest - these things are that realistic!  ;D
