All of the chicks from my LF dun project, of a black Ameraucana cock over 2 dun mutt pullets, were very uniform in color and still have little variation from each other as adults. I plan to keep a few of these pullets and again breed a black Ameraucana over them. I have a few extra pullets to sell, if an Alliance member is willing to come get them and continue with this project.
Again, I've seen a lot of various colors in my bantam dun project offspring this year. Besides lavender floating around in the flock, it looks like blue is also. One cockerel appears to be what they call platinum to me and that would be from both dun and blue diluting the black.

First ever home hatched silver bantams thanks to Eggs/ Stock from Russ.   I included a Large Fowl silver in with the bantam chicks for the fun of it.   I've had large silver since 2017/ 18 and enjoy the challenges of the variety all though I have come close to giving up at times.   I'm looking forward to begining to work with Bantams now too.

I don't believe Chocolate is a Standard APA variety in any chicken breed yet. You may need to look at the SOP description from the American Bantam Association. I believe bantam Wyandottes are accepted by the ABA in Chocolate. But it also may be important to note that some of the Chocolate Wyandottes are based on the dun gene, not sexlinked chocolate. The SOP description should still be relevant.

Thank you both for feedback! The genetics side of plumage colors is an ongoing interest for my 8 year old poultry enthusiast, so I figured no better place to ask questions! She loves the idea of a self-laced chocolate (just for funsies) but wanted to also know what chocolate would look like as a proper variety.

I have just updated our upcoming meet list. I added the meets from the winter 2025 and summer 2026 Newsletters. Which included our Southern Fling National Meet. I apologize for the confusion, and I am still unclear how it was removed. Perhaps something got lost in the transfer???

There are several working on Chocolate in both large fowl and bantam. I'm not sure if there is a proposed Standard written up. Chocolate is a solid variety based on extended black. There wouldn't be any laced pattern. If you have both chocolate and laced blue genetics together, the Mauves would have lacing. I'm personally working on these, but it's just for fun.

I just went to check the date for the Southern National 2026. It is not listed on the Meet Page at all.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. For future reference I might see these concerns quicker if I am sent an email or phone call. I agree 100% that this is unacceptable and I am addressing this with the board of directors.
