Silver Ameraucanas- Wild Type Split to Partridge
« on: March 06, 2018, 01:52:48 PM »
Something I've been wondering about a lot lately.  Consider the similarity of the males between Silver Ameraucanas, and any variety of Silver Partridge/Silver Penciled.  Do you think there are lines that are split for this, but that somehow this split might actually give brighter silvers or other desired trait that results in selection of these males that then produce ~50% female offspring with more of a brown cast from partridge, also with more patterning bleeding through? Wild type is dominant to Partridge.  Makes me wonder.

Steve, I have also wondered something alone these assumptions of yours. As I have noticed females showing up among different lines having somewhat of a wing triangle. Especially going through many pictures within the Silver Ameraucana Facebook page.
