1st pullet egg of 2019

Yesterday I found the first bantam Ameraucana pullet egg of this year.  I don't know what variety laid it, since there are lavender, wheaten, buff and blacks in that coop.  My first hatch of the year was February 19th, so that would make it about 22 weeks or just over 5 months.  That's pretty good.

Yes, not bad at all.  I have had a few laying for awhile now too, but my hatching started in January.  Did you get out of the bantam Silvers altogether?

I am getting some eggs from January and early February hatches, too. It always tickles me to see the little blue eggs start showing up.

I still have one bantam silver hen left and was hoping to borrow the silver Dutch male from Rennolet to work on the improvement project that you are doing.

If Bob can't come through, it looks like I'll have an extra cockerel that is half Dutch, half Silver Ameraucana.  But his comb is not showing three ridges at this point.

I started hatching earlier than I normally do to replenish my flock numbers as I had gotten fairly low. I am getting pullet eggs from my January and February hatches as well. My husband is tickled that he actually gets to eat eggs instead of me setting them....at least for the time being.
