ISO Black LF
« on: March 28, 2023, 06:11:16 PM »
I will preface by saying I am a new member and not overly familiar with the correct terminology, so please feel free to offer constructive education in this regard. Additionally, I have reviewed the Directory but not seeing how I could filter this without sending a ton of inquiry emails and figured I would try here first.

I am looking for a Black Only line, meaning not BBS, as I am under the impression this would be best as I am not interested in Blue or Splash varieties and down the road would be interested in adding Erminette which I would want under a Black Roo.

Where are you located? Are you looking for large fowl black Ameraucana? This is a good time of year for hatching eggs.

I am ISO LF (Large Fowel) and located in Michigan. Currently I am leaning towards getting my flock from Tripe S Farms in OK. I was originally wanting to get chicks however it seems like it is much easier to be able to get my hands on eggs at this time. Just working on convincing the husband that the incubator would be the way to go long-term.

Shipped eggs are always a gamble, as the post office does not always handle the container gently.    Have you tried John Blehm right there in Michigan?

I sold my last trio of LF blacks a few days ago and plan to only breed bantams next year.

Have you tried Dustin Bonner? He is in Michigan and I know he got some Ermine from Becky Pelton last fall at our National at John and Kathy’s. I don’t know if he breeds blacks, I think he does but I have been wrong before, but I think his information is in the breeders directory.

I just saw this post,  feel free to contact me at dustin.bonner@charter.net

I’ve had some problems with my flock that I haven’t posted about, but maybe we can find a way to help each other.
