Previous topic - Next topic

Now that show season is about to kick off, I would like to remind our members that it is the perfect time to request bids from your favorite shows to possibly host our 2025 National Meet/s. I need to receive all bids by November 1, 2024, here is the link to our meet request policy

https://ameraucana.org/DnLd/Ameraucana%20Alliance%20Meet%20Policy%204.7.2024.pdf

Please have all the bids sent to Russ Blair at Slicktree@hotmail.com and I will be sure to present them to the board for consideration.

I have also attached a list, of helpful information, that may help the board of directors make their final decision.

Last call to get those national meet bids submitted, I need them by November 1. Right now I have 3 bids submitted from Anderson South Carolina (Stan Alder & Becky Pelton) Fowl Fest in Chesaning Michigan (Russ Blair & John Blehm)  and one from Illinois & Missouri Poultry Club (Carl Cook, Daniel Cook). I am also expecting one from Amanda and the DFFC crew for there fall show in Greenville Ohio in the next day (Russ Blair, Bruno Menarim).

Remember according to our meet policy:
At least two members, that plan to
attend the show, must agree to organize our National Meet there before a bid is considered.  ;)

I received a bid from DFFC for their fall Show in Greenville Ohio requested by Bruno Menarim and myself. I also received one from the Beaver Pigeon show in Jefferson Wisconsin requested by Ann and Rachel Dunn. So I now have received the five bids I mentioned, if you have requested one from a show superintendent and you do not see it mentioned I have not received it  8)

I would like input from our members about the 5 national meet bids. I started a poll on Facebook and I would like input from the members not on Facebook as well. Who would attend a national meet at the above mentioned locations. They are Jefferson Wisconsin, Greenville Ohio, Chesaning MI, Anderson South Carolina, and the Illinois/Missouri poultry show. Please let me if you would attend, you can list multiple shows but please do it in order of preference.

Thanks

1-Chesaning, MI
2-Jefferson, WI
3-Greenville, OH
4-ILL-MO, IL

We would make it a point to go to any of these 4. Always wanted an excuse to go to Michigan Fowl Fest but is the same weekend as Jefferson, WI

I'll chime in and give a plug for Fowl Fest, October 11-12, 2025, in Chesaning, Michigan. I've attended most of our national meets over the past 3 decades, but I only plan to show at Fowl Fest from now on since it is our local show and only a 35 minute drive from home. Fowl Fest has one very nice big building, with good lighting, single stacked cooping and six foot wide aisles. It is small enough that our national meet will get all the attention. Take a look at the PDF file below to see their very generous offer to host us.

We can make the trek up for the Fowl Fest show in MI.  Its a nice show, a good venue, but I will have to look into hotel options in the area, and restaurants, etc.
And into whatsoever house ye shall enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
