Russell received a note from Paul Monteith tonight letting us know that the qualifying meet for our petition is set up for ABA National meet at Columbus Ohio, November 8th and 9th, 2025.   Hope to see everyone there with your bantam Ermines!

I am honored to announce that at 10:17am today I received a message from Paul Monteith, ABA Standard Committee Chairman, informing me that the ABA has accepted the Bantam Ermine Ameraucana into the Bantam Standard. This is a huge accomplishment that was made possible through a lot of help, determination and perseverance from the bantam Ermine breeders. I would like to thank them all for asking and allowing our Ameraucana Alliance to send in the application which allowed us to get our first variety of Ameraucana recognized and accepted into a standard in our club name.

Special thanks goes out to Laurie Ashley who not only made a bunch of beautiful ribbons for the qualifying meet, but also ponied up the $500 for the application fee. She is truly an asset to our Alliance and just proves that we have some of the most generous members out there. I would also like to thank Stan Alder, who was the Bantam Ermine subcommittee chairman, along with all the other subcommittee members Rebecca Howie, Becky Pelton, Michael Muenks, Laurie Ashley, Don Cash, Janie Mead, and Leigh Schilling Edwards.

This accomplishment will hopefully help Becky Pelton and the Large Fowl Ermine breeders in their process of getting the large fowl accepted to the APA standard. Which they also had their first qualifying meet at the Ohio National as well. For those that are not aware there has been a group of people trying their best to get both the ABA and APA to refuse accepting the Ermine name for this new variety. That is why we fast tracked our application to the ABA, we didn't want to have breeders that bought into this variety steal the name from those who created them, like what happened with the Lavenders, which are now called self blue.

So thanks again to everyone that made the qualifying meet such a success. You guys did a fantastic job and should be very proud of what you all accomplished 😊

I wanted to give an update about our bantam Ermine Ameraucanas since the approval by the American Bantam Association.

The Ermine bantams are rocking the show halls!

Shawn Hester's bantam Ermine hen, Megan, was Champion AOCCL,
Fort Worth Stock Show

Shawn Hester's bantam Ermine cockerel, Maverick, was Reserve Champion AOCCL (show 1) and Champion AOCCL (show 2), Mabank Texas  show.

My bantam Ermine cockerel, Norman, was Reserve Champion AOCCL (white card)

The bantam Ermine Ameraucanas are more than a pretty face :-)) They are impressing the judges with their type and quality.

Thank you, Becky Pelton, for all the work you have done for the Ermine variety of Ameraucanas!!
