Good evening, I would like to announce we have our first bid to host a 2027 Ameraucana National meet. I confirmed it was still a good offer from fellow member and secretary of the Michigan Poultry Fanciers, Matt Boensch. It would be hosted at their fowl fest show the second weekend of October 2027 at the Saginaw County fairgrounds. It is a very generous offer, and it is a very well ran show with wide aisles and single stacked cages. They even upgraded the lighting which helps a good bird shine. John Blehm has agreed to be on the show committee and help me organize it. I believe there are several other Michigan members that would help as well.

Remember I need all National bids submitted to me by November 1, 2026. The clock is ticking folks. If you requested a bid, you might want to check with the club and make sure they get them sent in. That way the board can discuss and vote on accepting one, possibly two for 2027. It also needs to be published in the winter newsletter so our members can plan their hatches and vacations accordingly.

Sounds like it would be a great show for a national meet!

The Fowl Fest (https://fowlfest.org/) will be on October 9-10, 2027, in Chesaning, Michigan. I've attached their bid.

The Michigan Poultry Fanciers would like to submit our bid for your National Meet. Our show will be the 2nd full weekend in October at the Saginaw County Fairgrounds in Chesaning, MI. Coop in will be from 4pm – 9pm Friday and from 7am – 9am Saturday. Coop out will be before 10am on Sunday.
·    We feature a double show and both shows are APA & ABA sanctioned. Your National Meet will be our White Card show.
·    The junior show is a one-day double show.
·    You will have your choice of the judges we hire and your breed will be judged first in the white card show.
·    Your National Meet will be promoted in our Poultry Press ads, on our FowlFest.org website and other media we use to promote our show.
·    Your breed club will receive a rebate of $2 per bird entered of your breed, open and junior show, with a 50 bird minimum required to earn the rebate.
·    Your breed will be given a prominent location in the showroom, with bantams and large fowl in the same area if applicable.
·    Your breed will be in single decked cooping, even if double decking is needed for others.
·    We will provide an 8' table and 2 chairs for your club.
·    We will provide an area for your club meeting if requested.
Our Fowl Fest is the ideal venue for national meets. The show is less than a two hour drive from the Ohio border and approximately 30 minutes from I-75 or I-69. The Main Exhibit Hall is large enough to allow for our entire Fowl Fest to be in one well lit room with 6' wide
aisles. Birch Run and nearby Frankenmuth are very popular tourist towns with something for everyone, whether into poultry or not. There are numerous restaurants and hotels, plus RV camping is available at the show. Please feel free to ask questions you may have regarding this offer and visit our FowFest.org site for more information.

Respectfully, Matt Boensch Show Secretary
