Our website/forum was attacked

Our website and this related Ameraucana Forum were down, since yesterday, due to what is known as a DoS (Denial of Service) attack.  Someone out here with enough computer savvy along with enough resentment for our little to club took the time to do this.

That happens all the time John and really is more of an ISP problem than ours.  What I think it means is we are getting more publicity and so more attackers know who to attack.  My company domain, non chick related, gets hits regularly but typically, and Yahoo lets me know when and for how long, it is for a few minutes.  It sounds like our ISP isn't used to the problem so it took longer to recover.

I don't think publicity or popularity of a site matters.  From my understanding many sites are on the same server and when someone attacks the IP address of one site they all are affected.  Whether someone was specifically targeting our site or another on the same server we may never know.
